Manchester United have chosen Ralf Rangnick to serve as their temporary manager.

His present position as manager of sports and development at Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia’s Premier League made him one of five candidates on a short-term contract basis.

Even though PSG rejected United’s attempt to sign Mauricio Pochettino as their permanent manager this week, the club will have to wait until next summer to make the decision.

When Rangnick first met with Manchester United, he was apprehensive to sign a six-month deal with the English team.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, have offered to retain Rangnick on as a consultant when his temporary management stint is up.

According to Goal, Rangnick was convinced to leave Russia for Old Trafford by this vital pledge.

Rudi Garcia, Lucien Favre and Paulo Fonseca were all considered for the position, as was Ernesto Valverde of Barcelona.
